World KNK makes school uniforms in Bandung, Indonesia: woven garments, produced in our own factory since 2000. School uniform programmes start at 1,000 pieces per style, mixed across your full size run, with 200,000 pieces of monthly production capacity behind them. Sampling takes 1 to 2 weeks and bulk delivery 6 to 12 weeks, so a programme agreed this term is in students’ hands before the next one starts.
Built for whole-school programmes
School uniforms are one of the hardest jobs in garment making. One style has to fit six year levels, survive four terms of wear and constant washing, and look the same on the first day of the year as the last. That takes a factory, not a logo shop. We cut and sew every garment to the school’s own design, in the school’s own colours, across a proper size run that covers the smallest new starter to the tallest senior.
Patterns are developed and cut digitally on Lectra systems and stored with your programme. When enrolment grows and you re-order next year, the shirt fits exactly like the one before it, because it comes from the same digital pattern on the same lines under the same checks. Schools change sizes year to year; their uniforms should not.
What we make for schools
Formal shirts & blouses
Structured collars, hard-wearing poplins, boys’ and girls’ cuts across the whole size run.
Dresses, pinafores & skirts
Summer and winter weights in the school’s checked or plain fabrics, sized by age and height.
Trousers & shorts
Sturdy twills that survive the playground, with adjustable comfort built into the cut.
Vests & light jackets
Woven formal layers for assemblies, ceremonies and cold mornings.
Senior & graduation pieces
Tailored separates that set the senior years apart from the rest of the school.
Staff uniforms
Teaching and office staff garments in the same colours, so the whole campus reads as one school.
How a school programme runs
The schools that get this right work backwards from the first day of term. Agree the designs and fabrics first: sketches and reference photos are enough to start, and samples are in your hands in 1 to 2 weeks. While samples are on the table, run your sizing sessions and build your quantity breakdown by style and size against expected enrolment. Approve the fit, then bulk production takes 6 to 12 weeks depending on fabric; a custom-developed fabric adds 4 to 8 weeks, so tell us early if the school wants its own cloth. Keep a buffer in your order: mid-year enrolments always arrive.
Crests, colours and houses
Branding goes into production, not on top of it. Crests are embroidered as the garment is made, and house systems, year levels and campus colours are handled through colour-blocking and dyed-to-match cloth, so a seven-colour school identity is one programme rather than seven arguments. Printed details age just as cleanly for sports days and special events.
School uniform FAQs
What is the minimum order for school uniforms?
1,000 pieces per style, mixed across your size run. Custom fabric development starts at 1,500 pieces per style.
When should we place the order?
Work backwards from the first day of term. Sampling takes 1 to 2 weeks and bulk production 6 to 12 weeks; add 4 to 8 weeks if the school wants its own developed fabric. For the 2027 school year, Australian government schools return between 27 January and 10 February 2027, and the order window runs mid-Oct to mid-Nov 2026; the full backwards clock sits on the Australia 2027 apparel production calendar.
Can you make uniforms to our own design and colours?
Yes. Patterns are developed digitally on Lectra systems, cloth is dyed and matched to the school’s palette, and you approve the fit before bulk runs.
Can you add our school crest?
Yes. Crests are embroidered in production, along with colour-blocking and printed details for houses, year levels and events.
How do re-orders work next year?
Your patterns stay on file with the factory. A top-up order skips development entirely and matches the first delivery, so new enrolments get the same garment as everyone else.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We export from Bandung, Indonesia, and ship programmes for overseas buyers, including a Hawaii-based uniform procurement house.
Our school needs fewer than 1,000 pieces per style. Can you help?
Our minimum is 1,000 pieces per style, mixed across your size run. Below 1,000, programmes from 500 pieces per style run on Kizen Lab, our sister company on the same campus, FOB from 500.
